I want to extend my sincerest thanks to all who participated and entered a quilt for the contest. I know that there are many worthy causes to spend your time and resources and I deeply appreciate your choosing to help Quilts of Valor to reach more of our Arkansas veterans. The judges had a very hard time making their choices and wanted everyone to know that they also appreciate the time and dedication it takes to make a quilt.
We held the contest to help reach more veterans and also to help get the word out about what we do. If you need more information about our program or would like to start a group in your area, please contact me at sheila.gordon@QOVF.org and I will be happy to help you in any way I can.
I also want to thank American Legion Post 20 for sponsoring the contest and for all the help along the way they have been for this event and many in the past. They are always willing to help any venture that honors our veterans.
Also, I want to thank our judging panel, which consisted of Senator Greg Standridge, State Representative Trevor Drown and Russellville Mayor Randy Horton. We appreciate all the time you spent viewing quilts and voting for your favorites to help support the volunteers making the quilts and veterans that will receive them. Thank you for all you do!
